Remarkably long breaks

It’s been quite a while since the last post, and there’s still so many bands and artists to cover. I’m sorry for the immense delay – it was just after 18 months of pushing to bring this project together with funding, and traveling, logistics and meeting so many new people, I really needed to take a break. I needed to take a breath, take on a contract to make some money and try and gain some perspective from this project. Welcome to the life of a working musician! 🙂

Thanks for keeping up and reading along – I hope to have all the previous interviews up within the month. I got some great news over the past few months -I got into graduate school at Parsons and Sing Bandana Singh (my band) got a grant to complete “Beauty,” a record about decoration, desire and decay. So like any good neurotic artist I spent a month eating crackers (PC Garlic, Rosemary and Sea Salt crackers – delicious), and pretending the pending life decisions were totes ok.

SO since then, I’ve calmed down a bit, but just a bit. It feels like there’s lots of energy in the air again.  Also September in Toronto (and most places in North America) is absolutely nuts with arts and culture and school events.  It feels exciting again -everyone is doing such great work, and I’m pretty privileged to get to see it so close up – so thank you for your patience – and hopefully within this week we’ll have a few new profiles up and ready to go!

xoxo,

B
